DECAYSTATE EXPOSES CORRUPTED FAITH IN “HOLLOW”

August 24, 2026 by That Chick Krys

Have you ever trusted someone who presented themselves as a source of guidance, only to discover they were using that trust to control you? DECAYSTATE confronts that devastating betrayal in Hollow, a metalcore track about manipulation, spiritual abuse, and the freedom that comes from finally questioning someone who claimed unquestionable authority.

The lyrics address a figure who speaks like a saviour and presents a carefully crafted image of grace. Behind that appearance, however, lies deceit. The narrator gave this person trust, loyalty, and even their identity while unknowingly helping them conceal the harm being inflicted on others.

That realization creates the song’s deepest emotional conflict. Doubt initially feels impossible because the narrator’s heart does not want the truth to be real. Questions appear like cracks in a once-solid foundation, but every missing answer makes the structure weaker. Eventually, disbelief becomes an act of liberation.

DECAYSTATE supports that journey with crushing guitars and hard-hitting percussion communicating the anger of discovering the truth, while the more melodic passages leave room for grief and disillusionment. The production allows the track to move between confrontation and reflection without reducing the subject to simple rage.

The central description of hollowness exposes the emptiness beneath the manipulator’s public image while also describing a foundation built on vulnerable people. Claims of mercy and divinity become tools for draining those who came seeking comfort.

Hollow is especially powerful because it treats questioning as strength. DECAYSTATE captures the painful process of recognizing that faith in a person has been weaponized against you. With searing lyrics, intense vocals, and production that gives every revelation weight, the track turns disbelief into survival. It is a cathartic metalcore release for anyone who has escaped control and learned that walking away can be an act of courage.
