SAVING SIDON QUESTION THE FEED ON “BITING THE BAIT”
October 10, 2026 by That Chick Krys
Have you ever watched someone share an outrageous headline, then realised they had never read beyond it? Saving Sidon take aim at that familiar internet habit on Biting The Bait, a progressive metal single about the trouble we invite when rumours become facts simply because enough people repeat them.
There is plenty to work with here. We scroll through accusations, opinions, and carefully edited versions of events all day, often with very little context. Something makes us angry, confirms a suspicion, or tells us exactly what we want to hear, and suddenly checking the source feels less urgent than joining the conversation.
The title captures that moment perfectly. Bait works because it offers something tempting. In this case, the temptation might be outrage, certainty, or the satisfaction of believing you have figured somebody out. Saving Sidon’s premise asks what happens when that quick reaction starts influencing how we treat actual people.
Their described combination of melody, weight, and changing dynamics is a promising fit for the subject. Progressive metal leaves room to explore competing ideas, and the melodic element gives listeners something to hold onto while the heavier side reinforces the frustration behind the message.
What makes this concept engaging is its everyday relevance. You do not need to be involved in some enormous online scandal to recognise the behaviour. A misleading post, a half-heard story, or an anonymous comment can be enough to set everything moving.
Biting The Bait puts a worthwhile question at the centre of its heaviness: how much of what we believe have we actually checked? Saving Sidon offer a strong reason to pause before reacting. That little moment of hesitation could save everyone a considerable amount of unnecessary damage.
