Have you ever watched someone demand obedience while acting as though their own rules could never apply to them? Impurities confront that dangerous entitlement on …Sons To The Flame, bringing in former Chelsea Grin vocalist Alex Koehler for a metalcore collaboration centred on hypocrisy, imposed belief, and humanity’s capacity for self-destruction.

The lyrics think on a huge scale, filling the scene with divided worlds, contaminated earth, and a civilisation approaching its own end. Yet the accusation underneath those images is direct. People have claimed moral authority, used it to justify harm, and expected someone else to deal with the consequences.

“You prayed to idols built by man” is one of the song’s sharpest lines. It questions the authority people manufacture and then treat as unquestionable. From there, the writing moves into bloodied hands and declarations of holiness, exposing the gap between what these figures preach and what they actually do.

The repeated alignment of the sun and moon gives the song a looming point of reckoning. Everything appears to be moving toward an ending that humanity has helped create. That makes the apocalyptic imagery feel connected to the accusation rather than included purely for spectacle.
