STARING DOWN THE MONSTER WITHIN ON “LEVIATHAN” BY VARA X JAYANT BHADULA

Friday December 12, 2025 by That Chick Krys

Have you ever felt like there’s something massive lurking beneath the surface, growing heavier the longer you avoid it? That’s exactly where Leviathan drops you. Vara and Jayant Bhadula build a track that feels enormous, cinematic, and emotionally charged without ever losing control. Every element is deliberate, from the crushing low end to the tightening atmosphere that slowly pulls you under.

At its core, Leviathan explores the confrontation with an overwhelming internal force. It could be fear, ego, unresolved trauma, or the darker side of ambition that refuses to stay quiet. The lyrics never explain themselves outright, and that restraint is part of their power. They lean into symbolism, using the idea of a leviathan as something ancient and unstoppable, representing what we carry deep inside. Rather than a battle for destruction, the song feels like an act of recognition and survival.

The vibe is tense and brooding, yet oddly empowering. Vara’s vocal delivery is controlled and intentional, like someone standing firm in the face of something terrifying but familiar. Jayant Bhadula adds gravity and motion, giving the track a sense of forward momentum as if the ground is shifting beneath the narrative. The production is massive but never cluttered. Swelling synths feel like ocean pressure, drums strike with purpose, and silence is used as a weapon just as much as sound.

What truly sets Leviathan apart is how immersive it is and demands attention, invites reflection, and somehow leaves you feeling steadier afterward. It feels like a descent followed by clarity, not comfort, but resolve.

The visual world surrounding the song elevates it even further. Directed and edited by Udit Mahar, with Ocean Floor Films and 61C Studios, the imagery mirrors the track’s scale and darkness. Cinematography by Ray Vaibhav Yadav and Kushagra Nautiyal adds texture and depth, while VFX and 3D work by Udit Mahar and Ved Vyas reinforce the mythic tone. Character design, album art, and creative direction by Visual Amnesia tie everything together seamlessly. Produced by Abhiruk Patowary at Abstract Reality Studios and mixed and mastered by Neil Engle in LA, “Leviathan” sounds as powerful as it feels.

All music written and performed by Vara, this track proves that sometimes the bravest thing you can do is face what lives beneath the surface and keep moving forward.
