In Sleep We Live put that disappointment into words on Far From Home, then give it somewhere to go. The Polish newcomers introduce themselves with a metalcore debut built around walking away, starting over, and finally choosing yourself. Honestly, that is a pretty strong way to say hello.
What I love about these lyrics is how the hurt stays visible even as the narrator finds his footing. “The air inside my lungs is slipping away” captures that exhausting feeling of having too much left unsaid. Then comes the decision to rebuild, piece by piece. There is something reassuring about that image. Nobody has to magically wake up healed tomorrow. Getting yourself back can take a little work every day.
The chorus gets straight to the sore spot: needing someone who was never there. Pairing that admission with being alone but stronger gives the song its emotional payoff. Home becomes a complicated idea when the person who once felt safe is the person you need distance from. That tension makes the title mean something beyond simply leaving.

There is plenty of room in this writing for aggression without losing the vulnerability underneath. The breakdown’s declaration of strength also gives the story a clear destination, especially after the promise to never lose himself again.
Far From Home has the kind of message you want nearby when leaving feels harder than staying. It acknowledges the damage, then keeps moving. If you have ever had to build a life without someone you thought would always be in it, these words could hit close. Sometimes the person who finally shows up for you is you.
